About Crystal

As a doctoral student in Mechanical Engineering at MIT, Crystal studies 3D printing and the fluid mechanics and rheology of printable fluid inks. She previously received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Duke University in 2015. Her current research -jointly in the Mechanosynthesis and Non-Newtonian Fluids Labs - focuses on developing research and measurement tools to enable lower-cost, more accessible tests without loss of measurement quality, and for use in education. Crystal is passionate about STEM education and communication skills and works with MIT's Communcation Labs to develop workshops and teach these skills. She looks forward to making an impact in 3D printing technologies.
