MIT Design for America’s (DFA) goal is to connect students with real people in order to build and create real solutions to real-world problems. DFA fosters that by teaching new skills, providing new opportunities to work on pressing problems, and creating a community of change makers eager to make an impact. DFA provides the resources and collaborative environment for students to make impactful and successful projects.
Programs & Opportunities
- Projects: Each project team consists of 4–5 students, in majors ranging from computer science, mechanical engineering, to even neuroscience and architecture. Project members go out in the field and work with users to identify real-world problems and prototype solutions.
- Events: Hackshops are interactive sessions that teach students at MIT basic technical skills in a variety of areas, from shop skills to electronics to programming.
