The IDEAS Social Innovation Challenge is MIT’s +20 -year old annual social entrepreneurship program housed in the PKG Public Service Center. Since its founding in 2001, IDEAS has enabled MIT student-led teams to apply their education and expertise in collaboration with community partners to address social and environmental challenges around the world. Through this program, teams develop creative solutions in partnership with impacted stakeholders. Over 190 awarded IDEAS teams have implemented innovative service projects in 44 countries, impacting hundreds of thousands of lives. Projects have ranged across sectors, including global health, employment, water, education, energy, housing, disaster response, agriculture, and more. IDEAS alumni teams have secured more than $69 million in additional funding. Nearly 50 percent of IDEAS projects are still active in some form today.

Challenge: Recruit or join a team from anywhere to bring a context-relevant innovation to life in collaboration with impacted stakeholders! Secure grants of up to $20,000. Hone your idea with targeted feedback, workshop series, and coaching from industry experts.
